Everyday care
Long-term health conditions often need regular monitoring rather than a single appointment. Your family physician can help you understand the condition, adjust treatment and keep track of changes over time. The frequency of follow-up depends on your health, medications and how stable the condition is.
Your physician can also coordinate with specialists, pharmacists and other members of your healthcare team. Appointments may include reviewing symptoms, medications, home readings and test results. Your physician may arrange bloodwork or other investigations and adjust your treatment when needed. We will work with you to set practical goals and decide how often you should return.
Chronic disease appointments are best booked with your primary physician whenever possible. If your physician is away and a concern cannot wait, another Anuvi physician may be able to review your record and provide temporary coverage. Contact the clinic sooner if your symptoms change rather than waiting for your next planned appointment.
Medically necessary visits and chronic disease management are generally covered with valid Alberta Health coverage. Prescription medications, devices and certain supplies are not necessarily covered by your Alberta health card.
